Reflections
1. VoiceThread: Through the use of this VoiceThread I was able to create a presentation that demands the involvement of students. Through the use of a PowerPoint, video, and audio VoiceThread allows educators, or anyone, to create an interactive learning environment for anyone who wishes to participate. The discussion portion of this application allows for instant feedback and is saved for later use. Student's can get into conversations with their peers about various topics, in this case the extremes of photo-shopping models and celebrity pictures, to assist in the expansion of their minds. Lastly, the topic generates reflection on a hot topic in today's society which is not something always easily done.
2. Museo Galileo: First of all if given the opportunity I would recreate this screen-cast as it was originally created to possibly replace an in-class presentation about virtual experiences. Many educators are unaware of the quantity, and quality, of virtual experiences available online. This assignment not only got me looking for virtual experiences for a variety of topics but taught me about the many possibilities just from watching the other presentations. While there are not many, well none that I could find, virtual experiences for mathematics there is still a wide range for almost every other subject. It appears many museums, all over the world, are creating these virtual experiences for anyone to use.
