Reflection:
This was one of the elective courses I took as part of my coursework for the Educational Technology Masters program.  In this course we learned about the most recent and up date mathematical pedagogical strategies as well how to use them by tutoring junior high and high school students through the CSULB tutor program.  As a mathematics teacher this course gave me the opportunity to use my educational technology knowledge when creating the tutorial sessions.  Being able to incorporate technologies into the instruction made the lessons more engaging for the student thus enhancing the learning environment.

The two artifacts chosen for this course are both presentations. The first artifact is a presentation on the Case Study each student had to complete using their pupils as the subjects. In the case study we were asked to record  a engaging lesson using some of the strategies we had learned about and then to critique the pupils success over the course of the 10 day class. The second artifact is a presentation of a manipulative I found that could be used with my specific student relating to her specific needs. This same manipulative is the one I used during my recorded session with my student.   I used both of these presentations because they show the two key components of the pedagogical strategies discussed throughout the course.

Artifacts:
Case Study Presentation: (Prezi) (SLO #4 & #5)
Students were required to complete a case study using a lesson with the student they had been tutoring through out the program.

Manipulatives Presentation: (PowerPoint) (SLO #3)
Students were required to create a presentation on a manipulative that could be used with their case study student in accordance with the most recent research based pedagogical practices.
